China's first locomotive - "0"

This 0-2-0 tank engine steam locomotive was built in England in 1881.
It was used on China’s first railway, and was damaged in the great Tangshan earthquake of 1976.
Speed 20 km/h.

The designation of steam locomotives based on wheel arrangement differs from region to region. The Chinese call this a 0-2-0 engine, as when viewed from the side that accurately describes the number of wheel in each place along the body.
In Canada this would be a 0-4-0 engine as that is the total number of wheel in each set on the entire engine (both sides).
