DJJ2 "China Star”was a Chinese designed and produced experimental high speed EMU train based on the DJJ1 "Blue Arrow" high speed train by Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works.
The prototype rolled out in 2002.
The train set is designed with completely independent intellectual property, and had a top service speed of 270 km/h. Recorded speed reached was 321 km/h setting a new Chinese rail speed record in 2002.
Significant problems with the signals and electrical power and braking kept it out of service until 2005, but with a top speed of only 160 km/h.
The entire class was withdraw after only one year of service.
