Dong Fang Hong "The East is Red"
DFH in English means “Diesel Fuel, Hydraulic” and matches the first letter phonetics of the Dong Fang Hong.
It was designed by Sifang locomotive works in 1966 as a passenger engines, but did not enter mass production.
In 1973 it was redesigned as a 650 kW shunter engine, and was used only for that purpose in China.
Some are still used in Viet Nam.
